Is Suicide the Unforgivable Sin? What Mark 3 Actually Says
0:49 Short
What does Mark 3 say?
Someone told you your brother can’t be in heaven because he died by suicide. That is not what the Bible teaches.
Jesus does speak about an unforgivable sin in Mark 3:28–30, but the context is religious leaders calling the work of God’s Spirit the work of a demon. The Bible never names suicide as the unforgivable sin. No Christian dies with every sin confessed; our salvation rests on Christ’s finished work. “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life… shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38–39, NKJV).
This truth is for the people left behind. It is never an invitation. Heaven is never a reason to end your life.
If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, please call or text 988 (U.S.), the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It is free, confidential and available 24/7. Outside the U.S., please contact your local emergency number.

Maybe your brother died by suicide and someone once told you that means he can't be in heaven. The Bible never named suicide as the unforgivable sin. And think about this. No Christian dies with every sin confessed. If salvation depended on confessing the last sin before death, none of us would make it.
Our salvation rests on something far stronger. This truth is for the people left behind. It is never an invitation. Suicide is a deep tragedy. It grieves God and it shatters the people who love you.
Your life belongs to God. Heaven is never a reason to end your life. Call or text 988.
