Luke 13:23-24 · NKJV

Jesus’ Answer to “Are Few Saved?” (Luke 13:23–24)

0:53 Short

What does Luke 13:23-24 say?

Someone asked Jesus how many people would be saved. He didn’t give a number. “Strive to enter through the narrow gate” (Luke 13:24, NKJV). Jesus took a question about other people and turned it into a personal invitation.

C. S. Lewis made a similar point: “If you are worried about the people outside, the most unreasonable thing you can do is to remain outside yourself.”

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). And “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Whoever. That includes you, today.

When someone asked Jesus, "Lord, are there few who are saved?" He didn't give a number. He said, "Strive to enter through the narrow gate." Jesus took a question about other people and turned it into a personal invitation. And CS Lewis made a similar point. If you are worried about the people outside, the most unreasonable thing you can do is to remain outside yourself. Here is the good news.

God demonstrates his own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus died for our sins and he rose again. And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Whoever that includes you today, do you believe this?
