Paul Didn’t Say “Don’t Grieve.” Read 1 Thessalonians 4:13 Again
0:39 Short
What does 1 Thessalonians 4:13 say?
Paul wrote to a church with tears in its eyes: “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13, NKJV).
Notice what he does not say. Not “don’t sorrow.” Don’t sorrow the way people do who have no hope. Grief is expected; Paul gives grieving people a reason to hope while they cry.
