What does Matthew 7:23 say?

Jesus did not say "I once knew you." He said, "I never knew you."

"Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name?'... And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you.'" - Matthew 7:22-23 (NKJV)

False assurance is possible. The remedy is not more religious activity - it is a real, personal, receiving trust in Jesus.

Jesus did not say, "I once knew you." He said, "I never knew you." Matthew 7. Many will say to me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name?" And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you." False assurance is possible. You can sing the songs, do the ministry, quote the verses, and never actually know the Christ you claim to serve. The remedy is not more religious activity. The remedy is a real personal receiving trust in Jesus.
