Silencing the Enemy: How Reviling Can Distract Us from God's Plan for Our Lives

Greetings, my dear children. Today, I come to you to discuss a topic that is both timely and timeless - the power of our words. Specifically, I want to address the dangers of reviling, or speaking harshly and insultingly towards others. The devil often uses this tactic to distract us from God's plan for our lives and to sow discord and division among His people. In this blog, I will explain how we can protect ourselves from the devil's schemes and how we can use prayer and Scripture to seek forgiveness for our sins and grow closer to God.

Let us turn to the Holy Scriptures for guidance. In Ephesians 4:29, it says: "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." This verse reminds us that our words have power, and that we must use them wisely and intentionally to build others up, rather than tearing them down.

So, why does the devil use reviling as a tool of deception? The answer is simple - it can create a toxic environment that distracts us from God's plan for our lives. When we are focused on arguing, bickering, and attacking each other, we lose sight of the true purpose of our lives - to love and serve God and to love and serve each other.

What can we do to protect ourselves from this temptation? Firstly, we must pray. In James 5:16, it says: "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." Prayer is our direct line of communication with God, and it is through prayer that we can ask for forgiveness for our sins and seek guidance on how to protect ourselves from the devil's deception.

Secondly, we should turn to the Holy Scriptures for guidance. In Proverbs 15:1, it says: "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." The Bible provides us with the wisdom and insight we need to use our words wisely and to avoid falling into the devil's trap of reviling.

Lastly, we should seek accountability. In Matthew 18:15, it says: "If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over." Having a community of believers who can hold us accountable and help us stay focused on God's plan for our lives is essential in overcoming the temptation to use our words to tear others down.

In conclusion, my dear children, we must be mindful of the power of our words and avoid falling into the devil's trap of reviling. Through prayer, guidance from the Scriptures, and accountability, we can protect ourselves from the devil's deception and stay focused on God's plan for our lives. Let us pray together now, asking for forgiveness for our sins and for strength to resist the devil's attempts to distract us from God's will. May God bless you and keep you always in His loving embrace. Amen.
